Making choices for next school year

This week will focus on choosing Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten for elementary families and dual enrollment for middle and high school families.

VOLUNTARY PRE-KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION - OCPS offers half-day, full-day, and summer Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten options. There is no cost to attend an OCPS VPK. Parents must obtain a Certificate of Eligibility from the state of Florida by applying online before registering at the school.

Summer Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) is an option for any child that turned four years of age by Sept. 1, 2022, and DID NOT participate in the 2022-2023 school year VPK program. Students attend Summer VPK the summer before entering kindergarten at the amazing Washington Shores Primary Learning Center. View a tour of the WSPLC. To learn more, call 407-250-6260.

Full-Year 2023-2024 Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) enrollment is now open for all children who will turn four years old by Sept. 1, 2023, and are zoned for an elementary school who offers VPK or would like to attend the WSPLC. Apply early because only 20 students are allowed in each class, as required by the State. If a school offering VPK reaches capacity, then parents can request their child be placed on their wait list.

Kindergarten registration is now open for all children who will turn five years old by Sept. 1, 2023. It is important that parents register students early and do not wait until August. View your school's early registration dates and times as well as other information.

To get started follow three easy steps.

Step 1: Students in Orange County are zoned to attend a school based on their home address. Use the Find My School tool to locate your zoned school.
Step 2: Review Registration Requirements
Step 3: Download and complete a registration packet. Please contact the school for site-specific direction on returning the packet. View a  list of school email addresses.
